Program Description

Asian Studies is a multidisciplinary program that consists of courses uniquely within Asian Studies as well as courses cross-listed between Asian Studies and various departments. An Asian Studies minor may be constructed in consultation with the Asian Studies chairperson and must consist of at least six courses, only four of which may be in Japanese language. A student pursuing a minor in Asian Studies should proceed from the most general level to a more specialized regional and topical focus.
Minors in the Asian Studies Program have studied abroad in the following programs in recent years: Antioch College Program, Buddhist Studies in Japan, Kyoto; Butler University Program, University of Auckland, New Zealand; Dickinson College Program, Toulouse, France; IES, London, England and Paris, France; Kansai Gaidai University, Hirakata, Osaka, Japan; TGU Exchange Program, Tohoku Gakuin University, Sendai, Japan.
