Pull out your tie-dyed shirts, long flowing skirts and bell-bottom pants. The Dipnic is going hippie.
“We’re going to party like it’s 1969 at the Hipnic Dipnic,” said MaryAnn Russell, psychology department coordinator and head of the Dipnic committee.
The Hipnic Dipnic will be held on Tuesday, May 19, beginning at noon on Hartman Green.
The theme came after a call for suggestions, and the Dipnic Committee thought a hippie-style Dipnic would be a fun. The food and the decorations will reflect the theme. Russell said she hopes the campus community will “embrace their inner hippie and dress for ’60s success.”
Since 1986, College employees have gathered at the end of the semester to toast the end of the school year.
“The Dipnic is a great way for faculty and professional staff to celebrate the end of the school year and to socialize with folks they often don’t get to see,” Russell said.
The event is for College employees only—no spouses, families or students.
Door prizes will be given out during the Dipnic, but you must be present to win.
In case of inclement weather, the Dipnic will be held in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center.
