Coutifaris to Head First Diplomatic Congress

Nearly 800 students voted on Friday, Sept. 19, to elect the leadership of the Diplomatic Congress.

Vassilis Coutifaris ’09, a member of Brooks College House, will serve as the first president of the executive board. The vice president will be Eric Rosenberg ’10 of Lafayette Hill, Pa., a member of Bonchek College House.

The candidates for treasurer and secretary ran unopposed in the election. Lilah Thompson ’11 of Doylestown, Pa., a member of Schnader College House, was selected as treasurer; and Weston Fillman ’11 of Topton, Pa., a member of Bonchek College House, was elected secretary.

The Diplomatic Congress will consist of 15 members, including the four-person Executive Board and an 11-member General Assembly.

Representatives to the General Assembly include the student leaders of the four College Houses, the four class presidents, the president of the Inter-Fraternity Council, the president of the Pan-Hellenic Council and the president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Elections for four class presidents were held Thursday, Sept. 25.

Diplomatic Congress convenes for the first time at the beginning of October.
