Reduce Your Summer Hours

Do you wish you had some extra time off this summer to spend with family and friends or to take a long trip?

If so, the Voluntary Reduced Summer Work Hours program might be for you. Eligible members of the professional staff may be able to reduce their working hours between July 1 and August 28.

“We are offering this to give professional staff the opportunity to take more time off when classes are not in session, if their work schedules allow,” said Nancy Eshleman, director of human resources at Franklin & Marshall College. “Spend more time with your family or friends, travel or just relax.”

It may also help the College save money, Eshleman added, as the salaries of those who choose to reduce their hours will be adjusted accordingly.

Your manager or department chair must approve a reduction in work hours. Don’t wait. The deadline to sign up for the program is June 1.
