Honoring Distinguished Service Award Ceremony is April 25

Human Resources will hold their annual Service Award Ceremony 3 p.m., Friday, April 25 in the Barshinger Center for Musical Arts in Hensel Hall.


Exhaustive Review Results in Reaccreditation for DPS

Franklin & Marshall College's Department of Public Safety remains one of just a handful of campus police departments in Pennsylvania that is fully accredited, following the latest in-depth review of the department’s organization, management, procedures, facilities and operations by the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission of the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.


Counseling Services Offers Extended Walk-In Hours This Week

As we start a new week with news that we have lost one of our students, Counseling Services in Appel Infirmary (entrance is on the Buchanan Park side of the building) will offer extended walk-in hours, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday this week.  


Plenty of Water Stations at Commencement

Franklin & Marshall College will provide water stations instead of bottled water at the May 10 graduation this year, a step taken on the recommendation of the College's Sustainability Committee. It's another  "Think Outside the Bottle" initiative to encourage less use of disposable bottled water on campus.


Global Lunch Discussion with Dave Kieran is April 15

The last Global Lunch Discussion of the year in our series on Refugees and Asylum Seekers is noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday,  April 15, at the Joseph International Center. Visiting Assistant Professor of American Studies, Dave Kieran, and several students in his "After War" class will talk about their research with local Iraqi refugees and American Iraq War veterans.

New Campus Event: TEDxFranklin&MarshallCollege

TEDxFranklin&MarshallCollege, 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the Green Room Theater, features four outstanding speakers -- Dave Levin, Dr. Kate Porterfield, Dr. Joan Fallon '79, and Akbar Hossain '13 -- who will share their perspectives on the "Trials and Triumphs of the Underdog."  


Spring Dance Concert and Choreography Showcase is April 12 & 13

The Theatre, Dance and Film Department's annual Spring Dance Concert is 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Schnader Theatre in Roschel Performing Arts Center. The Choreography Showcase will be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Schnader Theatre.

 


Kim Mordaunt, 2014 Oscar-Nominated Filmmaker, Visting F&M April 11

At 7 p.m. Friday, April 11, in Franklin & Marshall College's Green Room Theatre, F&M's Theatre, Dance and Film Department, in partnership with the Lancaster Public Library, is bringing filmmaker Kim Mordaunt to campus for a screening and discussion of his recent feature film The Rocket.


The 16th Annual Geoarchaeology Lecture is April 11

How do you combine chemistry, magnetics, obsidian, and Neanderthals (in Armenia)? Come find out at the annual geoarchaeology lecture,  Understanding Neanderthal Lifeways in Palaeolithic Armenia: Geochemistry, Magnetism, and Technology of Obsidian Tools, noon Friday, April 11, in Hackman 119. Dr. Ellery Frahm, Institute for Rock Magnetism, University of Minnesota, is the speaker.
