Lecture Tuesday: Understanding the Pathophysiology of Human Neurogenetic Disease

Anthony Wynshaw-Boris '77, professor and chairman of genetics and genome science at Case Western Reserve University, kicks off the HHMI Leadership in the Sciences and Medicine seminar series with his talk, “Understanding the Pathophysiology of Human Genetic Disease," during the Free Hour Biology Seminar Series, in LSP142, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:35 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Who's Presenting: Next Week's Summer Experience Fair

Next Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Steinman College Center Atrium, sophomore through senior students will share their internships, off-campus study experiences, volunteer and service opportunities, research positions and other summer experiences, including how they found out about the experience, whether F&M funded all or part of it, and whether the experience influenced their academic plans and career goals. If you know any students who would benefit from articulating their summer experience, and whose experience would inspire others in their acumen development, please encourage them to sign up.

Art & Meditation at The Phillips Museum

Art & Meditation: College Chaplain Susan Minasian will guide participants in a meditation session in the Painting with Light exhibition at the Phillips Musuem of Art, from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16.
 

September 11 Remembrance Ceremony is Tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Join other members of the Franklin & Marshall Community for a brief commemorative observance of the 9/11 tragedies tomorrow, 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at the site of the Franklin & Marshall September 11 Memorial, located just off the Klauder-Apple Walk, between Dietz and Meyran Halls on campus.

From cross-training to yoga, fall ftiness classes at Franklin and Marshall are now open for sign up.  


Hobbs Named Disability Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator

Alison Hobbs has joined Franklin & Marshall College in a combined position as the Disability Services and Deputy Title IX Coordinator. She began her duties on Sept. 8.

Lindsey Mercado has been named the new office administrator for the Office of Conference Services & External Events. 


Women's Center Art Opening and Welcome Back Party

Please join the Alice Drum Women's Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Wednesday, Sept 10for an Art Opening and Welcome Back party. Female artists from across Lancaster will share their work while students and community members will discuss their plans and hopes for the Women's Center this year. 

WWI Film Series: "The End of St. Petersburg"

"The End of St. Petersburg (1927)," the first in the World War I  film series, shows at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in Bonchek College House Great Room. The story: a Russian peasant moves to St. Petersburg and engages in union work during the period of the Russian Revolution.
