SLAC Recruiting Days

Seniors, get hired!

The Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC) is comprised of 14 liberal arts colleges that host 5 Recruiting Days during December and January in the following cities: Chicago, Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., and NEW IN 2012 San Francisco. SLAC Recruiting Days allow eligible F&M seniors to interview with multiple leading for-profit, not-for-profit, and government employers in one day.  Check the SLAC web site for a list of 2011-12 participating employers by city.     View the 2010-11 Participating Employers.

Resume submission deadline is in October and November 2011.  Seniors are required to attend one SLAC Orientation Session to be eligible to apply.  Sessions are scheduled for September 27th & 29th and October 5th.  View the complete timeline and registration instructions.

SLAC Virtual (online) Recruiting Days

If you are looking for a job in the spring, the SLAC Virtual Recruiting Days may be for you. This event is for seniors and serves as a way to connect employers with students in early spring using an on-line format.  View the spring 2011 participating employers.  The next Virtual Recruiting Days will take place from April 2 - 9, 2012.

How it Works:

  • Participating employers post job openings online.
  • Students review the job descriptions and submit their resumes.
  • Employers access applications at any time during the fair and then contact selected students by phone or email to set up interviews.

  • "I actually ended up getting multiple job offers from SLAC companies that I interviewed with, so I see it as a highly valuable tool for F&M students. For liberal arts schools, big companies often don't come to the schools to recruit so students are forced to apply to jobs online, which puts you in a pool of thousands of other applicants. Being able to apply as part of a much smaller pool of applicants gives you a much better chance of getting an offer."   - Kelly Farrelly '10
