Franklin & Marshall’s Inside F&M Web portal has a feature that allows approved campus administrative and academic units to send “targeted announcements” to students and College employees.
Inside F&M replaced MyDiplomat in December 2012 as the College’s internal portal for managing information and business operations for the campus community as part of Project BOOST, and the targeted announcements are one of the many ways faculty, students and professional staff can more easily receive notices that are timely and intended specifically for their group.
The targeted announcements are short messages that are displayed in the top section of Inside F&M’s home tab.
The following are the types of announcements that may be posted in this section:
The system allows users posting announcements to specify the intended audience for a given announcement, so that it can be displayed for that audience only. For example, an announcement intended for students would only be displayed for students, and faculty or staff would not see this announcement on their Inside F&M home tab.
Currently, there are three defined audience groups:
Over the course of this semester, additional groups will be added, such as academic department coordinators, students by class, students by College Houses, etc.
Any office or department that currently makes notifications about College operations (via email or other means) that fall within the “types of announcements” listed above may post a targeted announcement in Inside F&M.
