A new semester brought a new kind of collaboration to the F&M Film community. On Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 7pm, the F&M Film Program, partnered with The Phillips Museum of Art and Moviate, showed a brand new print of Stan Brakhage's experimental masterpiece, Dog Star Man. Making this event all the more interesting, Flamingosis, a local musician and current F&M Student, performed a score to partner with Brakahage's piece.
The 80-minute long screening brought in F&M film students, past alumnus, and community members (reaching as far as Baltimore, MD and Wilkes-Barre, PA). The collaboration effort was well received, earning praise from audience members, many of which were given their first glimpse of the works of Brakhage, as well as Flamingosis. Special thanks to Aaron Velasquez, The Phillips Museum of Art, and Moviate for helping make this night a success!
