Professor Olson received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky. His dissertation analyzed the impact of race on treatment decisions inside American prisons. His research interests focus on the implementation of public policy, bureaucratic decision making and social construction. He has conducted original field research in American prisons and also spent a year in law enforcement. Professor Olson teaches Understanding Public Policy and Public Policy Implementation.
