Professor Aldea Agudo received her Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from the University of Kentucky. Her scholarship has focused on Spanish Fascist (Falangist) propaganda in the 1940s. Her work analyzes the idealized representation of war and heroic subjects as a means to advance Falangist political agenda. Her current research examines the cinematic and literary depiction of the economic crisis in Spain and how identities are negotiated in this harsh situation.
