Annual "Celebrating Scholarship" Event Seeks Submissions

I invite your participation in the 12th annual FPS publications recognition event, Celebrating Scholarship.  On Thursday, February 27, 2014, the Library and the Provost's Office will host a reception in Shadek-Fackenthal Library's Academy Room, 4:45-6:00pm.  Everyone is invited to attend this event to see and appreciate FPS works produced in 2013.

I also invite you to submit items produced in 2013 for inclusion in a library exhibit and catalog which will accompany the exhibit.  From mid-February through mid-March, the Shadek-Fackenthal Library will feature in its lobby an exhibit of the contributed works. The items will be on view in seven secure display cases, and the exhibit catalog will be available for the taking.  Here's how to ensure your publications are included:

1. As author, you will need to provide the library a copy of your publication(s). Please send books with book-jackets if possible.  For journal article(s), offprints, photocopies, and electronic copies (which the library will print ) are fine.  Proper measures will be taken to ensure the items remain in the locked display cases until the exhibit closes. Library materials and, because of space limitations, individual book reviews and blog entries cannot be included.

2. We would like to recognize artistic productions and other kinds of professional accomplishment, in addition to published scholarship.  Please submit your work accompanied by a full description, and advise the organizers regarding the best way to cite your work.

Publications will be accepted through February 3, 2014.  Physical copies may be sent via campus mail to the Library c/o Lisa Stillwell, or may be delivered to the Research Services/Interlibrary Loan Office, main level, Shadek-Fackenthal Library.  Electronic files may be sent via e-mail to .  You will be notified when your items are available to be retrieved after the exhibit closes.

Best,

Joe
