Fitness Classes for Spring Semester

The Athletics and Recreation Department announces the Fitness Class Schedule for the Spring semester.

Any questions regarding the classes should be directed to the class instructor.   Email addresses are provided with the class description.

Uncommonly Relaxing Yoga

Tuesdays, 11:35a.m.-12:25p.m.

ROS 113

Come enjoy a relaxing Hatha yoga class with easy postures designed to increase flexibility, relieve muscle tension, and reduce stress. This class includes breathing exercises, meditation, guided relaxation, and suggestions for stress reduction in daily life. It’s good for people with injuries or limited flexibility and folks who just want to stretch and relax. Yoga mat required.

Instructor Jane Marie Clipman has been practicing yoga for 25 years and is certified through the Himalayan Institute. She has been teaching yoga at F&M since spring 2007.

$55 for 12 classes: January 28th – April 22nd

Empowering Power Yoga

Wednesdays 5:00 – 5:50p.m.

Get a good workout in this all-levels Vinyasa yoga class with poses that increase strength, stamina, flexibility, and balance. Beginner through advanced levels welcome. Modifications will be shown for making each pose easier or more challenging. Enjoy a guided relaxation and personal empowerment message at the end of each class. Yoga mat required.

Body Fit
 
BodyFit is an explosion of cross-training techniques pulled from a
variety of training disciplines. It maximizes strength and cardio by
incorporating functional strengthening, agility, plyometrics,
kickboxing, and various other training styles.  No two classes are
alike! This class will take your own personal fitness to the next
level. BodyFit is designed for all fitness levels and is structured
with cueing and instruction to challenge beginners as well as more
advanced exercisers.

What to bring: Please bring a large mat (or large towel), water, and a
small towel because you will sweat!

Time: Mondays, 5:30 - 6:30 pm, Classes begin February 3rd

Location: Woods Room
