Israeli and Palestinian Narratives in Film

The Middle East/Islamic Studies Faculty Caucus (MEIS) and the Judaic Studies Program (JST) would like to announce a film series for the spring semester.  We hope to see you there.

The Cultures Behind the Conflict: Israeli and Palestinian Narratives in Film

Two faculty members will briefly introduce each film before facilitating discussion following its screening.  All films will be shown in Stahr Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

Ajami ~ Thursday, January 30

A thriller, Ajami revolves around five stories of everyday life in the eponymous religiously mixed community of Muslims and Christians in Tel Aviv.

Paradise Now ~ Monday, February 17

Paradise Now tells the fictional tale of two prospective suicide bombers from the city of Nablus in the West Bank.

Channels of Rage ~ Thursday, March 27

The documentary Channels of Rage profiles the music, friendship, and politicization of two young rap artists, an Israeli and a Palestinian.
