Franklin & Marshall College Adjunct Assistant Professor of Viola Ning Mu will perform works of Beethoven, Clarke, Glinka and Shubert, as well as traditional Chinese music, during the fourth and final installment of the Sound Horizons Concert Series on March 29, at 3 p.m., in the Barshinger Center for Musical Arts. He will be accompanied by pianist Xun Pan.

Mu was formerly the artistic director of the International Music Festival and School in Colombia. In addition to teaching at Franklin & Marshall, Mu is on the faculty of the Pennsylvania Academy of Music in Lancaster, where he teaches violin and viola and conducts the string orchestra.

Mu has performed recitals at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York.

Pan, a noted chamber musician performing as pianist of the Newstead Trio, a resident trio of the Pennsylvania Academy of Music, records on the Prince label. He has also presented highly acclaimed solo performances worldwide, from Carnegie Hall to China’s Beijing Concert Hall. Pan has been a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Music since 1994, and was a visiting professor at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing.

Tickets are $1 for students, $5 for F&M faculty and staff and $10 for off-campus patrons. The box office in the lobby of the Barshinger Center of Musical Arts is open one hour before each performance.
