The Center for Liberal Arts and Society will host United States Sen. Arlen Specter on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m. for a campus forum in Stahr Auditorium in Stager Hall.

The Pennsylvania Republican and a senior senator will discuss the state of the economy, the economic bailout package passed by Congress last week and other issues. He will also entertain questions from the audience.

Specter was elected to the Senate in 1980 and is serving his fifth term. In 2005, Specter became Pennsylvania’s longest-serving U.S. Senator. He is ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee and a senior member of the Appropriations and Veterans Affairs committees.
