Sociology Colloquium

The Sociology Colloquium theme for Spring 2014 is Sociology of Food.

February 27, 2014  talk by Prof. Amy Bentley on "The Omnivore's Dilemma: The Problem of Deliciousness in Sustainable Food Systems."

March 27, 2014 talk by Prof. Janet Poppendieck on "The Future of Hunger"

The Sociology Colloquium is co-sponsored by the Sociology Department, the Center for Liberal Arts and Society (CLAS) and the Ware College House.

How it works

The scholar's paper is pre-circulated for attendees to read in advance.  At the event, the speaker presents for about twenty minutes, and then two discussants (one student and one faculty member), followed by an open discussion.

The colloquium is convened by Dr. Jerome Hodos and Sociology students.
