German Club

Who are we?

We are an organization that promotes German language and culture to the F&M community. 

What do we do?

The German Club provides an environment where people can gather to appreciate and take part in German and Pennsylvania Dutch culture.  We host several cultural events throughout the year including our biggest celebration, Oktoberfest.  Oktoberfest occurs in the first weeks of October, and is generally a beer-centered celebration in Germany.  At F&M, the German Club provides spaetzel, bratwurst, German chocolate cake, and a birch beer keg to honor this German tradition.  The German Club also hosts a variety of other gatherings such as Fastnacht Day (where we get Fastnachts from a local bakery) a Christmas Party, German Movie Nights, and, recently, a trip to an authentic Pennsylvania Dutch restaurant, The Hofbrauhaus.
