Sexual Assault and Violence Education

SAVE Picture 2009      Who are we & What do we do?

SAVE, which stands for Sexual Assault and Violence Education, is a student group on campus dedicated to educating women and men about sexual assault and dating and domestic violence.  We are celebrating our 15th birthday this year. We were founded 15 years ago as part of The Women’s Center.
Each year SAVE sponsors many events. One of our events is Week Without Violence in October. We have a speaker and other activities to call attention to and educate the campus about violence against women on campus and in the local community. We also sponso V-Day in February. We provide support to The Vagina Monologues production and other V-Day activities. In April, we hold one of the biggest events on campus, Take Back the Night.    It features a speaker, testimonials, music and often a candlelight vigil. The event  educates the campus about sexual assault and abuse and violence against women. During the year SAVE sponsors films, speakers and discussions.
