Application Procedures

As a member of the IES Abroad Consortium, Franklin & Marshall's Office of International Programs has the ability to directly admit qualified students to many IES programs.  In this case, all application materials should be returned to the Office of International Programs. See the Direct Admission to IES Programs below information to find out if you qualify.

Students who do not qualify for direct admission may apply directly to IES.  These students should complete the IES application online and mail the required materials by the specified deadline.

Application Components

All application materials can be found on the IES Web site.  All students, whether applying directly to IES or for direct admission through Franklin & Marshall, should complete the IES Professor Recommendation Form.  Students applying for programs with a language prerequisite must also complete the IES Foreign Language Assessment Form.

Fall Semester/Academic Year
February 15: Buenos Aires
March 1: Santiago
March 15: European & Asian Programs

Spring Semester
October 1: All Programs

Summer
March 1: All Programs

Direct Admission to IES Programs

A student must meet the following qualifications to be directly admitted to an IES program:

GPA of 3.0 or higher

Not on academic or disciplinary probation

Take an appropriate level language course within one year of the program start date, if previous language study is required to apply to the program

Apply to any IES program that allows Direct Admission.  The following locations are not eligible for Direct Admission application.  If you are applying to one of these programs, follow the directions to apply directly to IES, found at the top of this page:

Dublin - Summer Internship Program
London- Summer Internship Program
Melbourne - Summer Program
Nagoya
