Shakya Cherry-Donaldson

Shakya Cherry-Donaldson is currently a senior at Franklin & Marshall College. She was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School the world-renowned “Fame” school where she studied theater. Shakya is a Joint Studies Major in Economics and Africana Studies. In addition to serving on the Women’s Center Executive Board, she has held positions on the Black Student Union Executive Board and in the Boncheck House Congress. One of her main passions is to travel and study how the current socio-economic climate affects people in the native countries. This past year she had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and Ghana, West Africa. Her future career goals include working for either an NGO or within the philanthropic sector of a major company as a project manager, overseeing the budgets and strategies to make sure community-based projects come to fruition.
