Whitesell Writing Contest -- Now's the Time to Get Lucky!

It's the (lucky-number) 7th year of the Whitesell Contest...  and we'll be kickin' it into high gear on (unlucky?) Friday the 13th!  Don't be afraid to take a chance in the Writing Center during this STUPENDOUS, SUPERSTITIOUS SESSION from 1-4pm on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009.   

What is the Whitesell Contest, you ask?  It's your chance to win $200 for your Foundations or First-Year-Writing essay or research papers!  If you were enrolled in a First-Year Writing or Foundations course in Spring 09 or Fall 09, you are eligible to enter!   If this is the first you've thought about the Whitesell Contest, you can learn more details at www.fandm.edu/x5643, or by calling or visiting the Center with questions.  It's an excellent opportunity to stretch as a writer... AND to win some much-needed cash!

One entry requirement is that you work on your entry in at least one Writing Center appointment.  You can get that part out of the way next Friday!  Plus, there will also be "lucky" snacks and a door prize!  And no appointment is necessary - walk-ins welcome!  

So, will you be a lucky winner?  There's only one way to find out!  Come to the Writing Center on Friday, Nov. 13 between 1-4pm with your paper and work on it with a tutor in a 15-minute mini-session.  (And knock on our wooden furniture for good luck when your session is finished!) 

(Note:  Tutors will ONLY be working on Whitesell submission papers that afternoon.)
