Chi Omega

Founded at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 5, 1895, Chi Omega is the largest national social sorority. In 1987, the Phi Lambda chapter of Chi Omega was established at Franklin & Marshall College.

Chi Omega Sorority believes strongly that chapters should meet the needs of their local communities. With an emphasis on giving time rather than finances, chapters choose their own local philanthropy. Members give their time and talents and see the impact their contributions have on individuals in their communities. The Chi Omega Foundation funds active and alumnae scholarships, leadership training, and the maintenance of the Greek theatre at the University of Arkansas which commemorates Chi Omega's founding.

The Chi Omega Sorority is a female organization that has strongly existed at Franklin and Marshall College since 1987. Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization in the world with over 240,000 initiates and over 170 collegiate chapters. Chi Omega offers its members unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and life-long friendship. Chi Omega also serves its members by preparing young women to achieve their highest possible aspirations. Chi Omega sisters at Franklin and Marshall are a truly special group. Sisters are actively involved in all aspects of student life: academics, athletics, community service, various co-curricular and social. Membership of Chi Omega does not simply end at graduation; rather, your friendships and bonds continue to grow and thrive for years afterwards. F&M's Chi Omega sisters pride themselves on their personal integrity, academic excellence, and community service (specifically our philanthropic work with Make A Wish), and leadership throughout campus. Come check out Chi Omega to find out even more about us!

On June 28th, during the 55th Biennial National Chi Omega Convention awards luncheon, 54 collegiate chapters received the Award of Achievement. The Award of Achievement is based on six different categories that cover a variety of criteria including scholarship, administrative, community service, and high standards of personnel hospitality. A chapter must distinguish themselves in five of six categories to receive the award.

Chapter Updates!!!!

*** The ladies of Chi Omega helped out a fellow Dip who is running a marathon for the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society by having all of our sisters go to Isaacs on a specified date when a portion of the proceeds would go towards her cause. Over $400 dollars was raised that evening.

***We will also be having our second annual "Make a Wish Send off Party" where we host a party for a local family whose wish has been granted.

***The Phi Lambda Chapter of Chi Omega had a very successful rush and got 35 new girls!
