Kappa Delta

New Kappa Delta Members Outside of Barshinger

"F&M Welcomes the Eta Lambda Chapter of Kappa Delta! The women who were former members of Kappa Beta Gamma sorority chose to affiliate with Kappa  Delta last spring. They went through a 4 week new member education process with Kappa Delta's Educational Leadership Consultant and were installed as a chapter on May 3rd. We are very excited to have Kappa Delta as part of the F&M Greek Family and expect them to continue the tradition of academic and philanthropic excellence established by the women of KD! For more information about Kappa Delta as an organization, please visit www.kappadelta.org"

Kappa Delta was founded on October 23, 1897 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University), in Farmville, Virginia. Kappa Delta currently has over 130 active chapters. At Franklin and Marshall College Kappa Delta's Eta Lambda Chapter was colonized in May of 2008. Kappa Delta promotes true friendship and inspires its members to reach their full potential. At F&M, Kappa Delta women not only hold leadership positions within the sorority, but also on various student organizations such as the Environmental Action Alliance, Black Pyramid, Steppin’ Out, Mi Gente Latina, F&M Dance Team and the College Reporter just to name a few. Our high scholarship ideals are evident in our drive for academic excellence. Kappa Delta currently has the highest GPA among Greek organizations at F&M. Despite maintaining good grades, we also do our best to give back to the community. In addition to KDs four national philanthropies, the Eta Lamba chapter at F&M is involved with several others including Relay for Life, Autism Awareness, and AIDS Awareness. We are multi-faceted women multi-tasking our academic and social responsibilities while living our college lives to the fullest.
