Ciao Bella
Who are we?
Ciao Bella is F&M’s brand new Italian Club.
What do we do?
Our mission is to bring Italian-American food, fun and culture to the college community. Membership in Ciao Bella is open to all students who enjoy the culture, regardless of heritage.
Our events last semester included a Sunday dinner with free food, music and decorations. Sixty people showed up and we had to pull in extra tables and chairs! We also co-hosted a "Dinner & a Movie Night" one Friday with Kappa Beta Gamma Sorority. We watched The Godfather Part I on a projector screen in the Atrium and had free subs, soda, and chips.
We have lots of plans for events this semester. We would like to have a soccer game & bake sale in the ASFC, a card/poker night, a trip to the Italian Market in Philadelphia, and hopefully another Sunday Dinner. We also plan to co-sponsor an Evening in Italy night with coffee, biscotti, and music in the spring as well as a bocce ball stress buster on the green.
On April 14th, Paola Corso (an Italian-American writer) is coming to the Writers House for a craft talk at 4:30. Ciao Bella will have an Italian dinner prepared at 5:30 and after, there will be an open reading of poems, short stores, etc. that convey the Italian-American experience.
Our general meetings are every first Monday of the month. We meet in the Atrium at 6:00 and talk over dinner at Pandini’s.
