Will to Read: Shakespeare Aloud: Every Monday at 7:00 PM in the Dodge Reading Room. Anyone who likes Shakespeare, who genuinely enjoys the Bard’s magnificent words, is invited to come and read aloud from the canon. We’ll read scenes and speeches from the plays, as well as selections from his sonnets and other poetry. No experience or expertise of any kind required — only enthusiasm! Print-outs of the selected readings will be available at the Writers House.

Clemente Course in the Humanities: The Writers House is proud to be a home to the Clemente Course in the Humanities, a program that provides tuition-free, college-level instruction for educationally disadvantaged individuals. Classes meet twice a week on campus for eight months, and students receive free books, carfare, and childcare.

Theory, Power, and Politics: This theory reading group is for students and is sponsored by The Center for Liberal Arts and Society. The aim this semester is to unpack concepts of power using various theoretical texts and to illustrate the relevance of those texts to contemporary issues in society and politics. Sessions are moderated by a faculty member familiar with the text. Readings are available in CLAS's public E-disk folder, at the College Center Info Desk, and at the Writers House.
