The car is already packed to bursting. No matter how hard you try, that mini-fridge just isn’t going to fit.
Don’t toss it. Donate it to Dump ’n’ Run, Franklin & Marshall College’s annual campus and community yard sale.
The event, sponsored by Bonchek College House, gives students an easy way to unload household items they can’t transport home for the summer. The goods are then sold at a public sale. Proceeds go to Lancaster’s Milagro House, which shelters, educates and counsels homeless mothers and their children.
The sale will be held Sunday, May 6, from noon until 4 p.m. at F&M’s Mayser Gymnasium on College Avenue.
“Dump ’n’ Run serves multiple purposes in one event,” said Dylan Gordon ’14 who is co-organizing the event along with Matthew Klimuszka ’14. “It keeps students’ extra belongings out of the trash, provides buyers with inexpensive, quality goods, and supports an important local charity.”
Collection bins will be set up through Friday, May 4, in Steinman College Center and in the common areas of each College House and residence hall. Any member of the campus community may donate to Dump ’n’ Run.
Dump ’n’ Run accepts household and kitchen items, furniture, unopened food and toiletries, electronics, clothes, rugs and other miscellaneous items in good condition. Goodwill of Central Pennsylvania will accept any unsold items at the end of the auction.
