F&M Making Preparations for Severe Weather Related to Hurricane Sandy

Franklin & Marshall College officials are monitoring the progress of Hurricane Sandy as it travels up the East Coast. The College is taking precautionary measures to prepare for heavy winds and rain that currently are expected to affect the Lancaster area and F&M campus beginning late Sunday, Oct. 28.

Some of those measures include stocking dining hall food supplies, ensuring auxiliary power generators and pumps are operational, and developing contingency plans in the event of a power outage or emergency situation.

Updated information will be available on the F&M homepage, as well as the College's Facebook page and Twitter feed. Information also can be found by calling the Emergency Weather Line at 717-291-4003.

Campus community members also can receive text messages from the F&M Emergency Alert system. To sign up, visit http://www.fandm.edu/emergencyalert.

To report an emergency, call the F&M Department of Public Safety at 717-291-3939.
