Alice Drum Women's Center Seeks Executive Board Members for Fall 2017

Feminist community? Leadership experience? Opportunity to create change around issues that matter to you?

In our ongoing commitment to cultivating campus activism and leadership, the Alice Drum Women’s Center is recruiting new executive board members for fall semester, 2017. The executive board position offers the chance to enact campus change and facilitate discussions that matter to you as students. The Alice Drum Women’s Center was founded in 1992 to promote dialogue and action around women’s issues and to create a campus space of equality and inclusion. More than 20 years later, the center continues towards broader goals of inclusion and advocacy along intersections of race, class, sexuality, gender, and disability.

An executive board role will involve weekly committee work, organizing and planning events, attendance at all meetings and events, and voting power. It will give you access to leadership training and one-on-one time with campus speakers.  

Please note: Serving on the ADWC Executive Board is a time commitment of 3-5 hours per week. Board meetings are one hour per week and must be attended. Board meeting times TBD fall 2017.

3.  Why does F&M need the Alice Drum Women’s Center? 

4. What type of events or speakers would you like to organize at the Women’s Center? What type of student-lead discussions? 

5.  What does "community" mean to you? What about "leadership?" What skills would you like to gain from your work at the Women’s Center?
