“Where do I start?”
It’s a common question students have when they visit F&M’s Shadek-Fackenthal Library for research. And for 25 years, Research Services Specialist Jenn Buch has been there to help them find the answers by navigating the library’s numerous resources. From answering reference questions and processing interlibrary loan requests to making book recommendations, she never wavers in her commitment to providing superb customer service to students, professional staff, faculty and members of the Lancaster community.
Buch’s service to the College extends far beyond the library. She was the inaugural chair of F&M’s Staff Council and quarantine and isolation coordinator from 2021 to 2023. For these reasons — along with her commitment to working every day to fulfill the missions of the College and library — she is the 2023 recipient of the Richard Kneedler Distinguished Service Award. Named after president emeritus Richard Kneedler, the honor is presented annually to a member of the professional staff in recognition of outstanding contributions and commitment to the mission of the College.
“I am honored and excited to have won the Richard Kneedler Distinguished Service Award,” Buch said. “There are so many deserving people here at Franklin & Marshall, I am grateful to be recognized for my accomplishments by my peers.”
