Professional Biography

Professor Semczyszyn received her Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of British Columbia, after which she was a Mellon postdoctoral fellow in environmental philosophy at F&M. Her scholarship has concentrated on aesthetics and visual representation at the intersection of art and science, including publications on medical imaging and aquarium displays. Her current research focuses on the role of visual representations in science, and how they mediate our perceptual and aesthetic experience of the world.
