The sciences at Franklin & Marshall provided me with small class sizes, where I was encouraged to ask questions and participate in discussions. This fostered an environment where I had the confidence to ask questions and think critically. I was also able to participate in a variety of field trips where I learned how to conduct myself professionally in the field. Finally my summer Hackman research and senior independent study project taught me the importance of properly planning and executing a research project from start to finish. All of these experiences left me well prepared for graduate school, and provided me with skills I continue to find valuable in my professional career.
