Curators Heather M. Brown ’13 and Megan L. Brown ‘13, Hackman Scholars working with Louise Stevenson, professor of history and american studies, will be available to discuss and answer your questions about their commemorative exhibit of the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. The exhibit reviews Lancaster’s role in the fight for freedom, including Thaddeus Stevens, Edward Gorsuch, the Prince Hall Masons and William Parker.

7 - 8:30 p.m. "Hang Tough," a Documentary Film Honoring Leadership on D-Day 
A documentary film created and presented by Tim Gray, chairman of the WWII Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the memories of World War II veterans. The foundations slogan- “Educate. Honor. Inspire,&rdquo- is the mission statement that guides Gray, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, in his quest to document the people and the stories of WWII.

Hear from Dr. Alan Cheuse, a well known literary scholar, professor of writing at George Mason University and commentator on National Public Radio’s "All Things Considered." Cheuse is the author of several novels, including the award-winning "To Catch the Lightning," as well as numerous short stories in The New Yorker, Boston Globe Sunday Magazine and The Southern Review. Copies of Cheuse’s new book, "Song of Slaves in the Desert," will be available for purchase.
