I am pleased to be chairing this milestone celebration and look forward to seeing you all at our 50th Reunion June 7-9, 2013. Half a century! Now I guess we finally have to admit we’re old – at least in years but not in spirit! F&M holds a lot of great memories for me and I can’t wait until we get together and reminisce about all the good times we had.
The Reunion Committee and the College are planning a full fun-filled three day event—beginning with our induction into the Nevonian Society at lunch on Friday, and filled in with lectures, tours, time to catch up and rekindle old friendships, share memories, see the campus and enjoy some great food. If you haven’t been on campus for a few years, you are in for a real treat. The new buildings are spectacular. The official Weekend ends on Sunday with brunch, but we will encourage everyone to make Lancaster a destination and tour all that the area has to offer.
Soon, the committee will be in touch and personally invite you to come back. The committee will also encourage you to submit your personal reflections on what you have been doing for the past 50 years, so we can create our class Reunion book Reflections (spearheaded by Bob Kafin) as an important keepsake for all classmates.
Please start thinking of the classmates you’d like to make sure you see during the Weekend. Committee members will have contact information for you. If you want to be in touch with a committee member sooner, please click on one of our names to send us an email or give me a call at (610) 563-6226. We are always looking for help in contacting classmates and urging them to attend.
We will soon talk about our class gift too. A few members of our class have already come forward to make significant commitments to commemorate this milestone occasion, and we will be asking you to join in with a gift of any size. More to come, but please start thinking now about whether you’d be interested in helping us celebrate by giving back to dear old F&M
Please be sure mark your calendar for Reunion Weekend June 7-9, 2013. It will be an important celebration and I don’t want you to miss it.
Take care,
Lowrey Heaver
