Class of 1973

Hello Classmates,

HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!

The Reunion Committee that harassed and harangued you, begged and pleaded with you all in an attempt to convince you to attend our 35th reunion not so long ago, is back at it again.  It’s time for another reunion – But this is not just any reunion.  This is going to be a BIG One.  Ready or not the

40th reunion for the class of 1973 is right around the corner.  So plug the date June 7-9, 2013 into your iPhone, droid or Blackberry calendar and get ready to reconnect, relish and relive the days of yesteryear.

Why, you may ask, is 40 so special?  Over the span of those last 4 decades, collectively we have a few more grey hairs, maybe a few more pounds and a little worse eyesight than we used to.  But, we all share something far more important and that is the common bonds and formative experiences we have garnered over that time. We now span untold careers.  Many of us have children, some of which may have even gone to F&M and some of us are grandparents.  But as diverse as our lives are now, we can always look to our college friends and say “I knew you when….”

How can we not recall some of our wild and crazy times spent at Hildy’s (which by the way is still thriving) as well as the protest tree symbolizing our form of political activism.  To think, back then it only cost us $5 to go to concerts at Mayser Gym, featuring the likes of Three Dog Knight, Blood Sweat and Tears and Joe Cocker.  Although the $5 concerts may no longer exist, everything else does and believe it or not, over the last 40 years F&M, as well as Lancaster, has become bigger and better (take it from a townie).

Your Reunion Committee promises to do all it can to make this the best event ever.  But of course the single most important component of the reunion is YOU.  It is your decision to come that encourages others to join.  So let’s start the domino effect and click on one of the committee members names and email them your intentions to attend.  Then start contacting your friends and encourage them to come back and bring their spouses, significant others, children and grandchildren.  You can really get into the spirit of things by posting some photos or comments on our Class Facebook page.

Remember, if you  want to reconnect your F&M experiences, reserve the dates June 7-9, 2013 and all meet at Hartman Oval.  I ask you to honor our 40th Reunion and support the College with a Reunion gift. As a class, our goal is to raise $190,000 with 40% class participation.  My desire is to see as many of you at the reunion as possible.  Once that happens all other goals will fall in place.  Let’s make this the biggest and best reunion ever. If you don’t want us to hound you any more, sign up now.
