  •  Johanna Schein '11 at the National Archives

For ten weeks during the summer of 2010, Johanna Schein worked as a Public Outreach intern at the Center for Legislative Archives at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.  Her main responsibility was to conduct primary and secondary research on subjects addressed by Congress, especially the evolution of child labor legislation, and prepare in-depth research memos for Archives staff. Over the last few weeks of her internship, I wrote analyses on the influential political cartoons of Clifford Berryman for the Archives online database. Johanna wrote that this internship “had its perks, as this summer I spent an afternoon observing Congress in action at the Supreme Court nomination hearings and had an insider's tour of the Capitol dome.”
