An ancient roman amphitheatre- when standing on a marked spot, the speaker can reach even those in the upper rows thanks to a 'built in' sound system that rivals our technology today.

The interior and exterior of the impressive Biblioteca Alexandrina which was designed to combine modern structural elements with Middle Eastern culture and not only serves as a library but also houses a museum with several exhibits.

  • Our trip to the second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, included a visit to the Montaza Palace. Built on several acres of land filled with gardens and overlooking a beautiful beach, the palace includes several important buildings including the summer residence of Egypt's former royal family. During our time in Alexandria we also visited an ancient Roman amphitheatre and catacombs, and the impressive Biblioteca Alexandrina opened in 2003 near the site of the original library.
