The Chemistry Department is home to a state-of-the-art NMR spectrometer (a Varian Unity INOVA 500 MHz). The NMR is operated by Beth Buckwalter, who has had 15 years of experience in analytical facilities. Beth acquires spectra for students and faculty, does the myriad calibrations and operations required to keep the instrument running. She also writes programs that enable data to be sent to remote locations.
