We anticipate a major in Bioinformatics soon. Courses in bioinformatics include the areas of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and computer science. Sample courses include:
Biology: Principles of Evolution, Ecology, and Heredity
Principles of Physiology and Development
Chemistry: General Chemistry I
General Chemistry II
Organic Chemistry I
Mathematics: Calculus I
Students will also be instrumental to the design of the bioinformatics program. Five students each year will be supported to help faculty develop laboratory projects, protocols, and bioinformatics handouts for new and existing courses.

The anticipated curriculum for the Bioinformatics department is funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
