Local high school biology and computer science teachers have two bioinformatics professional development opportunities at Franklin & Marshall College.
Each summer, we host a week-long professional development seminar in bioinformatics that provides high school teachers with cutting-edge content, hands-on inquiry-based activities and classroom-ready materials.

A summer research fellowship program for four biology, chemistry, computer science or applied math teachers also offers the unique chance to work one-on-one with an F&M faculty member. The opportunity to do research will help teachers better meet state and national standards in science education, which increasingly emphasize scientific process and inquiry-based research.
