Programs & Events

Brooks House hosts a number of academic and social events each semester for the entire House. The House Don and Dean work in tandem with the Social Programming Committee, Faculty Integration Select Committee, and Traditions Select Committee to plan fun and meaningful events. Spotlights on some of our favorite events are featured below.

Special Events

  • Table Talks*
  • One of our signature academic events, Table Talks brings together Brooksians and members of the faculty with whom they have done research to present their work at a catered dinner in the House.

  • Junior-Senior Lunches
  • Every two weeks, Brooks House invites our upperclassmen members back into the house for an exclusive catered lunch with our Don and Dean.

  • Brooks Buddies
  • Our signature community service event, Brooks Buddies brings in grade-school children from the surrounding area for a fun day of exercise in the Alumni Sports and Fitness Center

  • The Dormal
  • Our newest tradition, the Dormal is a semestral formal ("DORM-al") open to all members of the House. Join us for a night of celebration, dancing, and good food.

Weekly Events

  • Movie Night Fridays
  • Every Friday night, Brooks House hosts a movie night open to all Brooksians, where attendees select what film they want to watch. Pizza, snacks, and healthful options are provided.

  • Sunday Night Sundaes
  • Every Sunday evening, the whole house is invited to join the Brooks House Congress in the Commons for sundaes, ice cream, and other treats. SNS is also the scene for many other house happenings like competitions, performances, games. 

  • Bagel Breakfast
  • Every Wednesday morning at 8:15am, the House leaders prepare a breakfast spread including bagels, fresh fruit, eggs, coffee, and juices for the entire House. Brooksians from every class are welcomed to start off their day right at this event sponsored by the House Don and Dean.
