What is a debit account?

An account into which funds can be deposited then accessed, with the F&M ID card, when making purchases at specified locations.   At F&M, these funds are called Ben's Bucks. When making a purchase, the ID card is swiped through a terminal (in the same manner that a credit card is used), and the amount of the purchase is deducted from the account balance. The good news-this account cannot be overdrawn. The account holder can spend only the amount that is in the account.

Who can open an account?

Any F&M student or FPS can open an account.

When can an account be opened or additional deposits be made to the account?

 Accounts can be opened or deposits made at the following locations:

 1.  Business Office (644 Race Ave.) 12:00-1:00, Monday through Friday

 2.  Auxiliary Services Office 10:00 - 4:00, Monday through Friday

If parents wish to add funds to the debit account for a student, they can send a check (made payable to Franklin & Marshall College) to the following address:

Please make sure to include a note that includes the student name and that the funds are to be deposited into a debit account.
