John retired from F&M in 2000 but continues his involvement with updates to Chemistry: A Guided Inquiry (a book he coauthors with Prof. Rick Moog of F&M), the 5th edition of which was published in February 2010.  When not editing textbooks, John works on his tennis game, his cribbage strategy and his pool shots. He and his wife, LaRue, live at The Villages in Florida.

An update from John:

Allison Fisher, the world's female champion pool player for 10 of the last 13 years gave an exhibition in The Villages and I was one of the lucky few who had an opportunity to play her.  She won but I put up a very good fight!
