The NMR facility houses a state-of-the-art NMR spectrometer (a Varian Inova 500 MHz nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer with variable temperature accessories, which permit the observation of dynamic processes in molecules from -150 to +150 °C, indirect, auto-X, and low-frequency liquid probes for the observation of virtually any NMR-active nuclei (including optimal signal to noise ratio for protons), and a solids probe for the study of materials in the solid state. An automatic sample changer provides for unattended overnight acquisition of data. The instrument is operated by an NMR technician.
