Franklin & Marshall to Host Scientific and Philosophical Studies of Mind Conference on Agency March 28-29
Franklin & Marshall College will be the site of a Conference on Human Action and the Natural World March 28-29. The conference will bring together philosophers, psychologists, and cognitive scientists to investigate the place human agency has in the natural world.
The conference is part of the Faculty Symposium Speaker Series in celebration of the opening of the Barshinger Llfe Sciences and Philosophy Building and is co-sponsored by the Center for Liberal Arts and Society, the Bonchek, Institute for Reason and Science in a Liberal Democracy, Philosophy, Scientific and Philosophic Studies of Mind, and Ware College House. The conference is free and open to the public.

The Nature of Actions, Jennifer Hornsby, Philosophy, University of London; co-director Rational Agency section, Center for the Study of Mind in Nature, Oslo;
Free Will and Neuroscience, Al Mele, William H. and Lucyle T. Werkmeister Professor of Philosophy, Florida State University.
