LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall College will once again sponsor a full slate of V-Day activities during the week Feb. 6-14.
V-Day F&M features a series of events and theatrical productions (such as The Vagina Monologues) held to raise awareness and funds to support V-Day, a global movement to stop violence against women and girls, and three local organizations working to toward the same goal. This year's global "spotlight" population is The Women and Girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo. "The Vagina Monologues is a moving, poignant and often hilarious play, which celebrates female sexuality in all its complexity. Originally drawn from a collection of more than 200 interviews conducted by Eve Ensler with women from all walks of life, the Obie Award-winning play gives voice to some of the most intimate, rarely shared female fantasies and fears."--vday.org
