Welcome to the Council for Women of Franklin & Marshall College webpage!
For those of you who are members and for our fellow alumnae and friends who will be joining our growing affinity, welcome to the Council...
We are looking forward to an exciting 2014! During the past few months the CFW Steering Committee has undergone some extensive strategic planning. We have worked hard to evaluate the successes of the council and build upon new ideas.
After the celebration of 40 years of co-education at F&M in 2009, Elizabeth Clark Mackey ‘75 was inspired to continue this celebration of women at F&M by creating the CFW. The CFW got its start in 2011 with the initial formation of the Steering Committee. During the past two years the CFW has spearheaded numerous on campus programs such as the Student Leadership Networking Luncheon, Alumnae Networking Reception, Negotiation Workshop and two paid summer internships for female students.
Following careful strategic discussion the Steering Committee updated the Council’s committee structure and mission statement to better reflect the needs and aspirations of the CFW. Our mission:
The Council for Women of Franklin & Marshall College fosters the personal and professional development of Franklin & Marshall women at all life stages, while strengthening their connection to each other and engaging them as active participants in the College community.
I encourage you to explore our webpage, like us on Facebook and contact us if you have questions. I hope you will consider taking part in the CFW and contributing your time and talents for this worthwhile endeavor.
With warm regards,
Nicole Teillon Riegl ‘90
