About the Council

Council for Women of Franklin & Marshall Mission Statement:

The mission of the Council for Women is to serve as an affinity group for alumnae, parents, faculty, students, administrators, trustees, neighbors, and friends, that furthers the education of women, provides guidance to women and enhances relationships among women affiliated with Franklin & Marshall.

History:

The Council for Women originated from the 40th Anniversary of Co-education celebration in the fall of 2009. Capitalizing on the success and excitement of that event, Elizabeth Clark Mackey '75 created the CFW Steering Committee and moved forward from there. The group held its first official on-campus meeting during Inauguration Weekend 2011. Committees formed (Awards, Events, Membership, and Mentoring) and planning commenced for an inaugural slate of events and activities during 2012.
