Franklin & Marshall College Franklin & Marshall College

Letter from the Chair

Dear Friends,

The newly formed Council for Women of Franklin and Marshall is an affinity group for alumnae, students, faculty, friends, and others who share our passion. The Council’s mission is to further the education of women, provide guidance to women, and enhance relationships among women affiliated with Franklin & Marshall.

The Council has ambitious goals for our first year. Currently, our Steering Committee is planning three events for 2012 – a women’s leadership luncheon celebrating student leaders, an informal gathering during Reunion Weekend, and at Homecoming a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Alice Drum Women’s Center. Additionally this year, we are launching “$5,000.02,” a summer internship for an F&M student. The student would receive funding, along with guidance and “our two cents” from a member of the Council, enhancing the experience of the internship.

We strive to reach 100 members by the conclusion of our first year! To sign on as a Council member, please contact Liz Parks ’09 by email () or phone (717-291-3847).  Come back to our web page (http://www.fandm.edu/council-for-women) to stay up to date on the latest Council news. We hope that you will consider taking part in the Council and contributing your time and talents to this worthwhile endeavor.

Warm regards,
