Information for High School Counselors

Dear Counseling Colleague,

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Franklin & Marshall College website. I hope this page proves to be a useful resource as you help your students navigate the college search process. Before pointing out a few important links, I would like to thank you for recommending such great students to our College. My staff and I rely on counselors to convey the quality experiences and close interactions that our campus provides. I love to hear from students who are referred by their counselors and, in turn, truly connect with the College.

To learn more about Franklin & Marshall, we have compiled the following links:

  • Each staff member recruits and reviews applications from a specific geographic territory, which enables us to become familiar with high schools and review applicants within that context. Please click on our Admission Staff link to view a listing of admission staff and their corresponding territories.
  • In your efforts to guide students, you may be interested to review our Class Profile for the latest enrollment facts and figures. Similarly, if you are interested in an update regarding what is new on campus, click on our Campus Update link for a brief overview.
  • If your students are asking questions about our web portal, you may direct them to the Web Portal link, which they will receive by e-mail after application submission. This password protected site enables them to access application information. It requires a username and password, both of which can be found on their application receipt letters.
  • Franklin & Marshall College requests counselor nominations of high school students from diverse backgrounds and a strong history of leadership for the Collegiate Leadership Summit. Students attending the two day summit explore their leadership abilities as they transition to a college environment. The cost of travel and attendance is covered by the College. Counselors are encouraged to nominate leaders to attend one of the three Summits held throughout the year. Nomination forms are found here.
  • Finally, we would like to invite you to visit us, our campus and our
beautiful City of Lancaster soon. If it has been some time since you last
visited Franklin & Marshall, there are many new things to appreciate and we welcome you to contact our staff and arrange a convenient time. We will provide beautiful accommodations at the Lancaster Arts Hotel (only two blocks from campus), a sampling of local restaurants, and good conversation.

As always, should you have questions about this information or anything we neglected to mention, please feel free to contact me or my staff at 1-877-678-9111.

Sincerely,

Daniel Lugo
Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid
